The Science of Stretch: Connective Tissue and its role in Acupuncture

The study of connective tissue is shedding light on pain and providing new explanations for alternative medicine.

One of the myriad physiological responses to acupuncture exists in the connective tissue and how mechanistic action of the needle in the tissue elicits a spectrum of change. The book "Anatomy Trains" takes this article a step further by showing planes of tissue nearly identical to acupuncture meridians in our fascia and connective tissue...when one knows what to look for in cadaver dissection.
